Thedifference between the two is the same as any typical 29er vs 27.5 comparison. The rollover is better on the 29 but the extra width of the 27.5x2.8 allows me to lean over a bit more on the dry loose trails I ride and also punctures less in the rocks. I'd chose the 29er for general trail riding and the 27.5+ for more aggressive riding.
